My name is Teng Yoon Soon.My friends like to call me Teng /Ah Teng. I am a Chinese from Malaysia.

I joined Parti Gerakan in 1990.I believe in its political ideologies and struggles.Gerakan tackles political,social, and economic issues from a non-racial approach because we believe solving problems using this method will create a win-win situation. Nobody loses everything but everybody gains something.Racial approach will only create anger,  frustration and dissatisfication. In a multi racial,multi religions, multi languages country like Malaysia,mutual cooperation, mutual respect and racial harmony are utmost important.There are many political parties which are racially based like United Malay National Organization(UMNO), Malaysian Chinese Association(MCA), and Malayan Indian Congress(MIC) which fight for the Malays,Chinese, and Indians.At the moment, I holds various posts in the party. I am the state secretary in Negeri Sembilan, Seremban Division secretary and Temiang branch  chairman. I am a national delegate to the annual natioanl delegate conference.

Gerakan is a component party of the ruling coaliation call the National Front ( Barisan Nasional ).It consist of 14 parties.

I am married with 3 children.My eldest son is studying IT in USA. My youngest is a daughter studying in Form 1.My second son is sitting for his O Level examination in November this year. He knows everything about English Premier League(EPL) and Formula One. My wife is a senior lecturer in a teaching college in Seremban.

At the moment, I work as the press secretary of my party president as well as the press secretary of the Ministry of Energy, Water and Telecommunication.
